One of Worldhealer’s strengths lies in our belief in the abilities of young people. Our confidence inspires students to grow and develop more than they ever thought possible, understanding and accepting others for who they are, valuing interpersonal cooperation and harmonious relations. By raising awareness, we promote respect, compassion, tolerance and patience, which will lead to a decrease in conflicts that arise from racism, misunderstanding, thoughtlessness and ignorance. Communities are interconnected, therefore no thought or action goes without its impact on oneself and others. Seeking out the root causes of our own intolerance is the only sustainable way to bring peace to ourselves and the rest of the world. Worldhealer considers people a top priority. Through education and community, we will increase personal concern and a willingness to become involved in the cycle of change.
Worldhealer believes that fostering intellectual and personal growth will encourage sustainable economic development. Exposure to differing ideas and people teaches individuals to better adapt to unfamiliar or challenging situations, encouraging greater flexibility of mind and ingenuity. To better address challenges on both local and global scales, we must be able to think outside the box. Participants of Worldhealer’s programs develop the skills and realize their own potential to create new organizations, products, and systems of thought to address both recent and long-standing problems within the global community maintaining compassion and awareness.
Worldhealer acts as the catalyst in the cycle of setting and achieving goals by supplying individuals with the right tools to improve their situations. Worldhealer believes that proper education, nutrition, and physical, mental and emotional health motivate individuals to live sustainable and responsible lifestyles. Worldhealer’s local and global programs create opportunities for individuals to develop their human capital as it pertains to their personal goals. Participants will acquire the necessary tools and skills to accomplish these tasks, creating a lasting impact on themselves and their communities.
Our philosophy embodies the true nature of the word solution: systemic change. Worldhealer believes that given the right tools, opportunities, and community based sustainable practices every individual in this world can improve their quality of life and realize their dreams. We do not pretend to know what is best for every community but we pledge to partner with and use the local knowledge from communities in creating programs to reach those goals. Worldhealer challenges the traditional nonprofit mold and ultimately envisions a world where there is no longer a need for its services.
